Free Beginning Genealogy Class


The Keosauqua Public Library will offer a free Beginning Genealogy Class on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the library.
Find out how easy it is to get started in this popular and fascinating pursuit and preserve your family’s unique heritage. Discussion includes gleaning information from home and family, tools for organization, basic genealogical records and resources, how to document your findings, and techniques for sharing your family’s special story.
Teaching the class is Alice Hoyt Veen, a Board-certified genealogist and member of the Iowa Genealogical Society. Alice is a sixth-generation Iowan with roots in Van Buren County. She has been a dedicated genealogist for more than thirty years and received her certification in 2014.
