The Keosauqua Public Library and the Van Buren County Genealogical Society are hosting Iowa Author and speaker Linda McCann to the Keosauqua Public Library Thursday November 21st at 6pm. If you missed her this spring giving her presentation on POWs in Iowa, this is your opportunity to come and witness this talented author and story weaver.

Linda will focus this presentation around Prohibition in Iowa. Prohibition was the period of time when it was illegal to manufacture, sell or transport alcohol in the U.S. This included Iowa. So, why then, did Iowa farmers turn to using their corn to make liquor??? Linda has been able to speak with the children of bootleggers and moonshiners and will share their memories in her presentation.

Linda will have books for sale after the presentation for $20* per book. *Cash or check only. Light refreshments will be served.

For more information, call the library at 319-293-3766, email us at keolib@netins.net or visit our website, www.keosauqua.lib.ia.us.
